It is important to know which strain works best for your medical condition. The best way to gauge the effects each strain will have on you is to know its main terpene profile or the top three terps found in the strain. Terps are the fragrant oils secreted in cannabis trichomes (the crystal-like substance you can see on cannabis flowers). Depending on which receptors they interact with, terpenes can relax, uplift, or elevate the mood of a patient.
Each strain has a different terpene profile, which will create different physical and mental effects depending on how you consume your medicine and what form your medicine is in. The percentage of terpenes present in a strain can change from batch to batch, but usually stays consistent.
